The second Paragram reading event is already planned for Friday 13 April between 7.30 and 9.30 at The Chertsey Bookshop. Tickets are £3 each, available from me (see email address below), through this blog, or from the bookshop.
There will be a featured poet – name to be announced closer to the date – as well as a new open mic part to the evening. Anyone wanting to book a slot to read in advance should contact me on the email address below to avoid disappointment.
We plan three reading events for this year as well as a second anthology which will have the theme ‘Connections‘. Most importantly we are calling for submissions for inclusion in the anthology. Poems of up to 40 lines, or short fiction of no more than 500 words should be submitted by midnight on 1 July 2012 in the body of an email to me at the address below. The writing should not have appeared on the internet or in a previous publication.
The successful pieces will be published in the anthology (copyright to remain with the author) in time for Christmas 2012 and will be available for sale from The Chertsey bookshop, Waterstones outlets, Amazon and other outlets on the internet as well as through this website. The authors of those pieces will also be invited to ‘perform’ them at the Paragram reading event closest to the publication date.
So, start writing and send your submission to me at email@example.com. Please put the word ‘submission’ in the subject line and within your email include a short bio as well as full contact details. The rules can be seen under the Submissions tab at the top of this page.
